Carlotta. Personality plus and full of energy, Carlotta aka
Lottie-Da is estimated to be about 3 years old. She was found as a stray who
was roaming the roads, abandoned in an agricultural area in Dade County. The
vet believes that she had at least one litter of pups at some point in her
young life. She is heartworm negative and very healthy. She needs a calm
environment and someone with the willingness to continue obedience work with
her. Carlotta is a little rowdy and can get over stimulated when around active
dogs. A basic obedience class at Petsmart (or comparable) will be included with
her adoption. She gets along with dogs her size or larger. She needs a home
with no cats or young children. Carlotta is a great dog for someone who wants a
dog who can go on long walks. She's very smart and responds well to a positive,
consistent training approach. Carlotta says...don't forget, I work for treats!

Charlee a.k.a. Prissy. "I am an approx. 5 to 6 yr. old girl.
I am a possible bully mix, and I came from the Miami Dade Shelter. I have a really cute face and I am super sweet and ultra loving.
Right now, my hips are being evaluated by a vet. and I have great eyes and beautiful coat.
I love kids and I am potty-trained and crate trained. What's not to love? I really just want to be
loved and be the best friend I can be in a permanent home as the only dog.
I love humans, but I don’t care for other dogs. I am moderately active and like some toys."

Kassa. I am a senior female who was found as a stray in the Miami
area. I have great eyes and excellent fur. I have had some mammary tumors and
rectal polyps removed. I have had some dental work done too. I am a real lover
and want a home where my owners will hang out with me and let me sit on the
furniture, since that is my favorite thing. I am mostly house trained, but
could use some friendly reminding of how it all works. I would love to live out
my golden years as an only dog, because I am not good with other dogs and want
all the love for me.

Tank3 is a chunky brindle guy who's about three years
old. Tank was left by his owner at a vet's office to be euthanized after being
hit by a car. The clinic sought alternatives; Buddies Thru Bullies was
contacted and assumed responsibility for his treatment. Tank had road rash and
a badly fractured tibia (leg) that required surgery by an orthopedic
specialist. He's fully recuperated now and good as new! He has a very sweet
disposition and was never cross to anyone during his painful medical ordeal. He
is good with most dogs. However, a very dominant dog who would give him
"attitude" would not be a good combination. He would do best in a home without
very small children. Tank needs someone very patient and with a flexible
schedule to work on his house training. Tank's ready to start his new life and
running loose chasing cars is now off his agenda!

Pugsley is a 7-year-old bullie surrendered by her owner along
with Mugsley. Difficult financial circumstances/foreclosure resulted in the
owner having to surrender the bullies who she loved very much. We would like to
place Pugsley and Mugsley together as they have been raised together and are
quite bonded. Pugsley has dry eye and will have a continued need for
prescription medication. She is currently being treated for an ear infection.
She is heartworm negative. She is rather timid and is rather disoriented by
being uprooted from her home, but she is slowly warming up to new people at her
foster home. She's housetrained and good with other dogs. Twice the bullie
love...Mugsley and Pugsley!

Mugsley is a mellow 7-year-old with a boxy little body! He was
surrendered by his owner with Pugsley and we would like to place them together.
They were both very much loved by their owner, but foreclosure/financial
circumstances resulted in their surrender to rescue. Mugsley is being treated
for an ear infection and he had a dental and some tooth extractions. He is
heartworm negative and in good health. Mugsley kind of "goes with the flow" and
adjusts well to new situations. He acts like a big brother to Pugsley and he is
right there to check on her if he thinks she is in distress (like during the vet
exam). He's housebroken and a quiet laid back fellow. Twice the bullie love...Mugsley
and Pugsley!

Nigel
is our "hit and run" bullie; he was hit by a car on a
highway in Central Florida. The driver didn't stop, but fortunately for Nigel
the next car happened to be a dog rescue volunteer who scooped him up, took him
to her vet and subsequently contacted Buddies Thru Bullies. Initial
examination indicated that he had a jaw fracture, which has healed.
He's a very loving, energetic dog estimated to be about three years old.
He loves long walks and giving kisses. His interactions with other pets
must be limited due to his medical condition, but he has not shown any
tendencies toward aggression with other pets thus far. Nigel has had successful eye surgery and his jaw is healed. He's an active guy
looking for a forever home!

Penelope is a bigger female, about 55 pounds, who
was surrendered to Brevard County. We think she is about 6. She is a
low-maintenance bulldog who just needs drops in one eye for dry eye. She needs
some “minor tweaking” on her housetraining, and should not be in a home with
small children as she prefers a calm atmosphere. Read our FAQ about adoption.
Fannie Mae aka Daisy is a definite couch potato - she spends all night
and most of the day relaxing on the . Daisy is good with cats, dogs, kids
(younger or older) and is housetrained. She does have some minor behavioral
problems that we are focusing on. Also, she seems to think she's much younger
than her age, as she prances around with her toys. Daisy enjoys being groomed,
as a proper lady would. Maybe your home could be the palace she's waiting for?

Sallie is
about eleven years old and we received her from
Miami-Dade Animal Services. She has some severe eye problems including an ulcer that we are
treating, but heartworm negative and a beautiful brindle coat. Her bloodwork
looks great, so she has been started on Rimadyl as she has some arthritis.
She gave the vets a run for their money during her exam; a feisty girlie who
has a lot of living to do yet.

Smitty: Poor Smitty was left
in the overnight drop box at the
Brevard County Shelter by some people who
found him as a stray. He had some bad wounds on his back legs that are now
being treated with topical ointments and antibiotics. Smitty's wounds don't
stop him from having a fun-loving personality. He went to the vet the other day
to get his legs looked and after the exam, he just sat on the floor and stared
at the cookie jar, thinking, "I was good...now where is my cookie!" Smitty is a
gentle boy who would probably be good with kids and who gets along well with
other dogs. He also came face to face with a cat walking out of the shelter and
wasn't even interested. Food and treats are Smitty's favorite things, and he is
great with his housetraining so far at his foster home. Smitty weighs about 55
pounds and is probably about 3-4 years old. He is currently awaiting an
evaluation for his severe dry eye, which is why he is not available for
adoption right now. But, when we get him healthy, he will make some family
very happy.

Brutus 3 was an owner surrender from Brevard County,
Florida. He is a senior boy who is very healthy except he has some ear
struggles. He is very friendly with people and dogs. He has quite the
personality and talks to you and tells you what he wants. He is an excellent
behaved boy and loves to take rides in your car. He has is big stout boy with
extremely large paws. His nickname is Tank because he is built like one.
Brutus is a handsome, smart, funny senior boy who still has lots of spunk and
still likes to play. He deserves the best home ever!

Buster9 is an owner surrender to
Broward County Animal
Care and Control. Approximately 10 years old, Buster is good with other dogs,
loves to bask in the sun and to ball up his blanket in chew/suck on it in order
to go to sleep. Buster is slightly arthritic, needing occasional non-steroid
anti-inflammatory and also has mild dry eye that requires daily drops. This
gentle and friendly older boy is in need of love.

Mena is an owner surrender – her owner became ill and is
now in hospice. Surrendered with her littermate, Winston, this 4 year old is a
Christmas Eve baby. Slightly overweight and on a diet, this petite, sweet and
playful girl thinks she is a lap dog and craves attention. Mena is bossy with
other dogs, especially females, but would do well with the right playmate. Mena
is very outgoing and friendly. She has borderline dry eye and is currently on
medication. Low maintenance tail cleaning is needed. She'll be ready for a
home, pending an eye re-check!

Jordie is approximately 5 years old, rescued from
Miami-Dade Animal Services. This poor boy was adopted and returned twice from
the shelter before being surrendered to BtB. Reason for return: adopters did
not want to pay for needed eye surgery, even though this surgery was noted in
original paperwork signed off on at the shelter. BtB has gotten Jordie his
entropian surgery and this beautiful fawn coated boy is ready to go to an
active home! Jordie weighs 55 pounds, loves to play and roughhouse outside with
others dogs, is good with other dogs and is very vocal (a talker…not a
barker). Jordie definitely needs someone to work on leash walking with him, has
slight dry eye requiring drops but is more than ready for adoption!

Beefy is a stray from
Miami-Dade Animal Services.
He is
about 5-6 years old and has gone through quite a bit of trauma. Within three
weeks of rescue, Beefy had lost all his hair—to the point of baldness due to a
severe skin infection/staph infection. After prednisone, antibiotics and many
trips to the dermatologist, he now has all his hair back, thank goodness! Beefy
sometimes eats non food items, so must be watched closely. Therefore, a home
with small children is not recommended due to small toys and objects that might
be available to be eaten. Beefy gets along with other dogs when outside but
does less well with them inside… in part because he is extremely toy possessive
and collects all the toys and guards them! He needs to only have hard toys such
as Nylabones as will destroy and eat soft toys. No cats; will get along with
the right dog if it is more submissive.

Tanker is approximately three years old. This sweet and
happy boy was bought off Craig’s list and then surrendered three days later to
Palm Beach Animal County Animal Care and Control due to severe eye issues. Now
with BtB and having seen an eye specialist, Tanker is already responding to
treatment, though will probably need eye drops for the rest of his life. It
appears he may have had cherry eye surgery. Tanker is very sweet, good with
everybody—dogs and humans alike. His tail never stops wagging and he loves to
play with other dogs. This active boy has a long tongue that never quite fits
in his mouth but is energetic and ready to play.

Winston7 is an owner surrender – his owner is ill and is
now in hospice. Surrendered with his littermate, Mena, this 4 year old is a
Christmas Eve baby. Winston is a sweet little guy at just 41 pounds and is very
outgoing and friendly. He was recently diagnosed with a hiatal hernia but,
after consultation with a surgeon and an internal medicine specialist, surgery
was not recommended and Winston is responding well to medication (medication
will be needed throughout his life: currently on two prescription medications
three times daily, and one over the counter medication once a day).
Additionally, at a recent visit to the eye specialist, it was determined that
Winston needed entropian surgery on his lower lids. Winston loves everybody and
everything, including LOTS of attention, though he is not much of a toy player.
He is fine with children and gets along with other dogs but, due to hernia,
will need a calm household. This sweet, gentle boy is waiting for the right
family to take him home! After his eye surgery, he'll be ready for a new home.
