September's Butch. An 8-year-old love-bug of a guy, from Miami-Dade Police Department, Animal Services Unit in Medley. He has severe dry-eye, and is good about getting his daily eye drops.
He has difficulty walking these days. He has been diagnosed with
hemi vertebrae, which is a congenital malformation of the vertebrae. We are exploring treatment options for him, therefore he is not available for adoption at this time.

July's Patsy
Patsy is a six year old female who came from a shelter on the west coast of Florida. She is housetrained and good with other dogs except that she is very food possessive. A home with no children is a must. She is a "runner" and needs a home with a very secure yard that is totally fenced front and back. She also has very severe storm anxiety. Placement is on hold at this time due to behavioral issues.

November's Shirley is a very shy 8 year old female from the
Miami-Dade Animal Services. She needs some dental work, and is being treated for Erlichia.
She is good with other dogs, and has pretty good potty skills. She may be a
possible "mix." as indicated by her muzzle. Update:
We feel it is
best for Shirley to remain with her long time foster family where she is
loved and care for. Due to Shirley's history of probable abuse and neglect,
she regresses emotionally with any change in her living situation.

January's Elvis is a 5-6 year old who came from
Miami-Dade Animal Services. Elvis came to Buddies Thru Bullies with severe demodex, and
he was very sad without his hair. Lucky for Elvis, some of hair has grown back,
and he is free of demodex. However, the poor guy seems to be fighting off a
fungal skin irritation. Elvis really doesn’t like other dogs, and can’t be
adopted to a home where there are other dogs. He loves adults. When Elvis is
ready for adoption, he will make a very nice companion for someone who enjoys a
sweet bulldog.

June's Brewster.
Brewster came to BTB from a shelter in the Florida Panhandle. He's a friendly fellow
estimated to be about 7 years old, but acts younger. He's housetrained and
good with children and most other dogs (cats unknown). Brewster had severe breathing
difficulties that were life threatening; he had palate surgery while in BTB
care and is doing great! He needs prescription eye medications on an ongoing
basis. He wants to be part of a loving family! Update Feb 2008:
Brewster is not available for adoption due to a medical condition.

December's Louie 2 is about 7-8 years old and was an owner-surrender to
Miami-Dade Animal Services. He had an infected tail removed and has a dry
eye that is controlled with drops. He is good with some dogs, but gets along
better with more submissive dogs. He is housetrained.
Update March 2008:
Louie is
experiencing medical challenges of a senior dog and he will remain with his
foster mom in a familiar setting.

February's Darlin.
Appropriately named,
I am an approximately a 4 year old girl, who was found as a stray by the Palm
Beach County Animal Care & Control. I am a sweet lover with people. I am
very attentive and cute with my tongue that sticks out. My long tongue
compensates for my tail that had to be removed due to a infection. I am not
really into toys; I am pretty much into humans and want to be their best
friend. I do NOT do well with other animals, maybe fish! I am housebroken,
but may need a positive reminder at first. Right now I am being evaluated by
a vet for a possible Palette Surgery.

March's Louie.
I am a senior boy! I came
from the Miami Dade area. I am housetrained and laid back. I am get along
with some dogs. My ideal home would be with a mom and/or dad that will give
me daily care like bathes and drops for my dry eyes. I need bathes often,
even daily so that my skin won’t feel so bad. I am a loving boy who needs an
opportunity for a good home! What is not love? My picture says a thousand
words!

January's Lucky
is a senior who was an owner surrender. Lucky is a nice big guy with good skin,
and good eyes. Lucky wants a family with no small dogs, no cats, and no small
children. He’s a little choosey in his older age, and prefers to have a nice
adult family to settle down with. Lucky is housetrained. He does ask if his new
adoptive family to please have a soft bed and some manly toys for him to play
with. Due to
senior dog medical issues that Lucky is experiencing, he will stay with his
foster mom in a familiar setting as a long term foster at this time.
